I remember getting to the Old Fruit Market (one of my favourite venues) just before the cut-off time for photos. I’d been at another venue across town and rushed over to catch Horace. His small group featured Red Holloway on tenor and they played many of Horace’s well-known compositions including, of course, ‘Song For My Father‘.
I used a Hasselblad 500 series camera with a 120mm lens which would have been wide open at f4. I like to shoot at around a 1/60 of a second. Sometimes there’s a little subject movement but it often adds to the image.
Ready to frame archival prints are available from only £15.00. A3 posters, £16.50 from the online shop.
